There’s a song that’s been haunting me for a wee while now. It started last Thursday when I heard a song called ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ (originally by The Waterboys) being performed at a Glasgow performance/talent contest in Anniesland by my pals Kyle and Declan (both Irish boys). I’ve realised that it’s one of the most wonderful songs, and I personally prefer the version that my friends perform together to the original. This might be because I heard their version first. Any die-hard Waterboys fans will probably want to rip my throat out, but you haven’t head Kyle and Declan perform it. I just wanted to thoroughly mention how important this song now is to me. It makes goosebumps rise up on my neck and my arms, it makes me escape the present moment involuntarily and float off into the sea. Really worth a listen:
